On this day, 31 years ago, April 15, 1994 (March 5, 1994 in the lunar calendar), the Final Document of the Uruguay Round of GATT Negotiations was signed. On April 15, 1994, the Final Document of the Uruguay Round of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade, in which more than 100 countries participated, was signed. On December 15, 1993, the final meeting of the Uruguay Round of negotiations of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade finally concluded at the Geneva International Conference Center. On April 15, 1994, representatives from more than 100 countries and regions attending the GATT Ministerial Conference in Marrakesh, Morocco, signed the Final Document of the Uruguay Round Agreement and the Agreement on the Establishment of the World Trade Organization. Vice Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation of China Gu Yongjiang signed the above documents on behalf of the Chinese government, and the Uruguay Round negotiations were officially concluded. The Uruguay Round negotiations were finally agreed upon to a worldwide sigh of relief. It has been noted that the Uruguay Round negotiations, which have been going on for seven years, have been abandoned almost because of the differences between Europe and the United States on a "punctuation".
