On April 12, 2014 (March 13, 2014 in the lunar calendar), Shen Weichen, former secretary of the Party Leadership Group and former executive vice chairman of China Association for Science and Technology, was investigated. On April 12, 2014, he was under organizational investigation on suspicion of serious violations of discipline and law. On April 17, 2014, he was dismissed on suspicion of serious violations of discipline and law. On December 22, 2014, he was expelled from the Party and public office, and was investigated and taken compulsory measures on suspicion of accepting bribes.
