On 119 years ago today, February 25, 1906 (February 3, 1906, the "Nanchang Case Plan" occurred. On February 25, 1906, people in Nanchang destroyed teaching and killed priests. History called it the "Nanchang Case Plan". On February 22, 1906, Wang Anzhi, the French Catholic bishop of Nanchang, forced Jiang Zhaotang, the magistrate of Nanchang, to expand his missionary privileges. Jiang Jian refused and was stabbed to death. The whole city was suddenly in chaos. Workers went on strike, businessmen went on strike, and students went on strike. Today, tens of thousands of people from various counties gathered, destroyed four French and English churches and schools, and killed nine missionaries including Wang Anzhi. The Qing government was intimidated by the British and French forces, suppressed the case internally and compensated the foreign government with silver to settle the case. Compensation for the clergy was 50,000 taels of "shirts", the church was 250,000 taels of silver, and the hospital was 100,000 taels of silver.
