Thirty-four years ago today, on February 12, 1991 (December 28, 1990 lunar calendar), the "Symposium on the Revitalization of Peking Opera to Commemorate the 200th Anniversary of the Hui class's entry into Beijing" ended in Beijing. "Hui" refers to the Hui tune or Hui opera, and "Hui class" refers to the opera troupe performing the Hui tune. The Qing Dynasty Hui tune was very popular in the south. During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, there were 4 opera troupes in Beijing. That is, the Sanqing class, the Sixi class, the Hechun class, and the Spring Taiwan class. Most of them are Anhui artists, hence the name. Qianlong 55 (1790), in order to celebrate the birthday of Emperor Qianlong Hongli, recruited the Sanqing class from Yangzhou with the opera artist Gao Langting as the pillar to enter Beijing, which was the beginning of the performance of the Hui class in Beijing. After that, Anhui opera troupes such as Sixi, Qixiu, Nicui, Hechun and Chuntai came to Beijing one after another. During the performance process, the six opera troupes gradually merged into the four major Hui troupes. At that time, the Beijing (Gao Opera) and Qin Opera had already flowed into Beijing first. On the basis of singing Erchun, Kunqu Opera, Bangzi, and Lola dialects, the Hui classes were inclusive, and a situation appeared in which "the four Hui classes were all good at the game". Activities such as commemorating the 200th anniversary of the Hui class's entry into Beijing, revitalizing Peking Opera viewing performances and academic seminars were grandly held in Beijing from December 21, 1990 to January 12, 1991. This is a grand event in the history of modern Chinese drama. This 24-day commemorative event is not only to commemorate the historical event of "Hui class entering Beijing", but also to raise people's awareness of Peking Opera, promote the development of Peking Opera art, and drive the development of other operas.
