On this day 39 years ago, on January 20, 1986 (December 11, 1985 lunar calendar), the Fisheries Law of the People's Republic of China was passed and promulgated. The Fisheries Law of the People's Republic of China, which was adopted at the 14th meeting of the Standing Committee of the Sixth National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China on January 20, 1986, is hereby promulgated and shall come into force on July 1, 1986. On December 1, 2000, the revised new Fisheries Law of the People's Republic of China came into force.
