He joined the Tongmeng Association through Zhao Sheng's introduction, changed his name to Ni Duan, and served as the trainee platoon leader of the New Army artillery team. In 1909, the Guangdong revolutionaries prepared for an uprising. In February of the following year, due to the clash between the new army and the police station, the crowd was fierce, and he decided to uprising in advance. On February 12, he knocked down the pipe belt Qi Ruhan and led his troops to siege the city. Due to injury, he fell off his horse and was captured and sacrificed.
