The progress of commercially available 5G mobile phones depends on the progress of 5G international standards. Liu Duo, president of China Academy of Information and Communications, said that the first version of the international standard for 5G will be completed in June this year. For commercial use in 2020, the industry has less than two years. She believes that the commercialization of 5G mobile terminals should be the latest and most difficult. She predicts that only in the second half of 2019 will real 5G mobile terminals be relatively mature. Huang Yuhong, vice president of China Mobile Research Institute, said when introducing the third phase of 5G trials that 5G commercial terminal chips are expected to be officially launched in the first half of 2018. At the Mobile World Conference in February, Huawei released the world's first commercial 5G chip based on the 3GPPR15 standard. Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei's consumer business, said that commercially available 5G smartphones will be launched in the fourth quarter of 2019.
