On this day, 98 years ago, March 23, 1927 (February 20, 1927, the lunar calendar), Chiang Kai-shek committed the "Anqing Massacre". After Chiang Kai-shek settled in Nanchang, he created a series of counter-revolutionary incidents in order to gain the support of imperialism and the comprador class. In March 1927, Chiang Kai-shek fled to Anqing, organized the so-called "Anhui Federation of Trade Unions", and bribed death squads everywhere. On March 23, Chiang Kai-shek ordered the local ruffians and hooligans he had bought to destroy the Kuomintang Party Headquarters in Anhui Province led by the Kuomintang leftists, the Kuomintang Party Headquarters in Anqing City, and the Federation of Trade Unions led by the Communist Party. Revolutionary groups such as the Provincial Farmers 'Association and the Municipal Women's Association robbed them of documents and belongings, injured dozens of employees and representatives of the Provincial Congress, and seriously injured many people, creating the Anqing tragedy.
