The People's Liberation Army launched a general attack on the enemies on Wazi Street. On March 3, 1948, Peng Dehuai led his army to wipe out the 29th Kuomintang Army in the Battle of Wazi Street. The Kuomintang army was wiped out 29,000 people in this battle, and Lieutenant General Liu Kan committed suicide. On February 24, the Northwest Field Army entered the city of Yichuan.
