Gottlieb Daimler (1834-1900), a German engineer and inventor, was one of the pioneers of the modern automobile industry. He was born on March 17, 1834, in Schöndorf am Rems in Württemberg, Germany, to a family of artisanal workers. His father was a bakery owner. In 1852, he studied at the Stuttgart School of Engineering. As a teenager, Daimler developed a keen interest in gas engines and began to learn to develop the Otto gas engine. In 1872, Daimler designed the four-stroke engine. In 1883, he worked with his friend, the famous inventor Wilhelm Maybach, to successfully develop a gasoline-powered engine, which was installed on a wooden two-wheeler in 1885, thus inventing the motorcycle. In 1886, Daimler installed this engine on the carriage he bought for his wife's 43rd birthday, creating the first Daimler car.

In 1897, Daimler's company produced the "Phoenix" brand passenger car. Especially in 1903, the company's main investor, Emile. The minibus named "Mercedes Mercedes" after Jelinek's daughter was put into production. Jelinek was the company's main investor at the time, the Austrian consul in Nice, France, and an enthusiastic supporter of Daimler Motors. Its front-mounted engine has 35 horsepower, front lights, wind shields, a two-door 5-seat open-air car shape that is closer to the characteristics of a modern sedan, and a lighter and more powerful engine than the original. The wheelbase and lower center of gravity have greatly improved Daimler's commercial status.

On June 29, 1926, Daimler-Benz merged and formed Daimler-Benz, which played an important role in automobile history. From then on, all cars produced by them were named "Mercedes-Benz". Gottlieb Daimler died on March 6, 1900 in Bad Canstadt, Stuttgart, Germany.

In 1861, Daimler went to work and study in France and the United Kingdom. In 1862, he returned to Germany and got married. Later, he worked as an engineer at the Deutz Gas Engine Company.

In 1882, he and his friend Maybach jointly built the engine at Maybach's home, and after improving the Otto four-stroke engine, they launched their first Daimler horizontal engine in 1883. In 1884, they introduced a better vertical engine (named Li Zhong, air-cooled, 1/4 horsepower, maximum speed 600 rpm), and obtained a German patent on April 3, 1885.

On August 29, 1885, a two-wheeler named "Riding Bicycle" was granted a German patent, making it the first motorcycle in the world.

In 1886, to commemorate his wife's 43rd birthday, Daimler ordered a carriage and installed his vertical engine. Thus, Daimler's first car was born.

In 1890, Daimler founded its own automobile company. 1900 Gottlieb Daimler died.
