Liu Bang, born in 256 years BC, died on June 1, 195 BC (April 25, 12th year of Gaozu), named Ji, a native of Zhongyangli, Fengyi, Pei County (now Fengxian County, Jiangsu Province), the founder of the Western Han Dynasty, namely Emperor Gaozu of Han.

In 20 BC (the first year of the Second Qin Dynasty), Chen Sheng revolted. He raised an army to respond and was called Gong Pei. At first, it belonged to Xiang Liang, and later became the main force of the anti-Qin army led by Xiang Yu.

In 206 BC, he led his army to invade Xianyang and overthrew the Qin Dynasty. Liu Bang made three agreements with the elders in Guanzhong and abolished the harsh laws of Qin, which won the hearts of the people.

In the same year, he was named King of Han by Xiang Yu. Soon, Liu Bang made a pact with Xiang Yu and fought with Xiang Yu for many years (the Chu-Han dispute). In 202 BC, Xiang Yu was defeated and retreated to Wujiang (now Anhui and the northeast of the county) to kill himself.

In the first month of 202 BC, the princes and kings Shangshu "please respect the King of Han as the emperor". On February 28 (the first month [the book of the Han Dynasty is February Jiawu]), Liu Bang, the emperor, was located in Shishui (near Cao County, Shandong Province), and the country name was "Han". Historically known as "Western Han" or "Former Han". The capital was first set in Luoyang, and soon moved to Chang'an (now Xi'an, Shaanxi Province). During his reign, he inherited the Qin system, implemented a centralized system, and implemented a policy of "emphasizing costs and suppressing the end". Based on the Qin law, he formulated nine chapters of the "Han Law", and also implemented measures such as "resting with the people", developing agriculture, and cracking down on merchants.
