After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War in 1937, he continued to perform frequently in southern and southwestern China for many years, and successively served as a professor at Sun Yat-sen University, conductor of the Chinese Symphony Orchestra, and director of the Guiyang Art Museum. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War in 1945, he successively served as conductor of the Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, director of the Guangzhou Art and Music Department, president of the Shanghai Chinese Music School, and After 1950, he served as the first president of the Central Conservatory of Music, and also served as the vice chairperson of the Chinese Musicians Association and the editor-in-chief of "Music Creation". Due to the Cultural Revolution, in January 1967, he settled in the United States and engaged in composition and teaching. He died in Philadelphia on May 20, 1987. On December 14, 2007, Ma Sicong's ashes were buried in Guangzhou, 20 years after his exotic death. On the same day, the debut ceremony of "The Complete Works of Ma Sicong" was held at the Guangzhou Art Museum.
