American Presbyterian priests colluded with evil people in Jinan to forcibly buy the house in Jiaoyuanxing on West Street and rebuild the church. Teachers and students of Luoyuan Academy issued a complaint requesting that the house be taken back. The missionary reported to the U.S. minister, falsely claiming that the church had been demolished and demanding compensation. The U.S. Embassy sent a counselor to Jinan to coerce local officials to close the case with a refund of the original house price and compensation.
