On this day, 35 years ago, on February 8, 1990 (January 13, 1990, the "First Cross-Strait Yuanqu Seminar" was held in Shijiazhuang. Amid the sound of firecrackers from all people celebrating the Yuanxiao Festival, the first Cross-Strait Yuanqu Seminar sponsored by Hebei Normal University, the Hebei Province Department of Culture, and the Hebei Province Academy of Social Sciences was grandly held at the International Building of Shijiazhuang City, the capital of Hebei Province, from February 8 to February 11 after more than a year of preparation. More than 120 experts and scholars from both sides of the Taiwan Strait attended the seminar.
