101 years ago today, on March 2, 1924 (January 27, 1924 in the lunar calendar), Sun Yat-sen proposed that the Kuomintang should share the same ideals as the Communist Party. On March 2, 1924, Sun Yat-sen issued the "Notice of Party Members to Explain the Reorganization of the Party and the Acceptance of the Communist Party." He pointed out that "Russia is sufficient for our party to learn from, and should also be cited as our country's mutual aid friend." It is proposed that the Kuomintang and the Communist Party "have the same ideals as each other, but there is no difference between old and new elements within the group."
