The Ethiopian train crash on January 13, 1985.
On the afternoon of January 13, 1985, a high-speed bus train on the international railway in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, Djibouti, crashed through a bridge 14 kilometers east of the capital city of Awas, 14 kilometers outside the capital, and four cars fell from 12 meters high into the river, killing 450 people and injuring 560 in the biggest train disaster in history in Africa. The train driver was arrested when hely did not slow down the bridge.
