April 27, 1874 Japanese invasion of Taiwan
On this day, 151 years ago, on April 27, 1874 (March 12, 1874 in the lunar calendar), Japan brazenly sent troops to Taiwan on the pretext of the Ryukyu "Mudan Society Incident." Taiwan's Gaoshan soldiers 'preferred target for Japan's first foreign aggression and expansion was China Taiwan, which sounded the alarm for the Qing government and also exposed Japan's ambition to occupy Taiwan. In 1879, Japan forcibly annexed Ryukyu and established Okinawa Prefecture. Taiwan's security is once again threatened. In October 1885, the Qing government issued an edict to establish a province in Taiwan, becoming the 20th province of China. On April 27, 1874, Japan blatantly sent troops to Taiwan under the pretext of the Ryukyu "Peony Society Incident". The essence of Japan's sending troops this time is to occupy the entire Taiwan Island. This matter is related to American Li Xiande. Previous historical books have an ominous account of this. Funded by the Japan International Exchange Fund, during the process of searching for information in Japan, a series of materials were found to prove that Japan's invasion of Taiwan was indeed related to American veteran Charles William LeGendre from the planning to implementation. Li Xiande proposed a series of diplomatic strategies for the Japanese government. The most important part of this is the occupation of Taiwan. He planned to allow Japan to obtain the pretext that the Qing government had no effective rule over Taiwan's foreign territories, and then provided an excuse for sending troops to Taiwan. At the same time, he also proposed a specific combat plan for Japan to attack Taiwan. The translation of this "plan" is now presented to all friends for analysis.
