On this day, 29 years ago, on February 12, 1996 (December 24, 1995, the lunar calendar), Japanese novelist Sima Ryotaro passed away. Sima Ryotaro (1923~1996) was a Japanese novelist. Originally known as Dingyi Fukuda, he was born in Osaka on August 7, 1923. He graduated from the Mongolian Department of Osaka Foreign Languages College in 1943. He joined the New Japan Shimbun in Kyoto in 1946. Two years later, he served as a reporter for the Sankei Shimbun and published works at the same time. He began his life as a professional writer in 1961. Sima is good at using historical events to form magnificent artistic pictures, and uses multi-clue advancement writing to narrate decades-long history, with relatively clear causes and consequences. His main works include: the multi-volume historical novel "The Dragon Horse Running"(1962 - 1966), the political historical novel "Lingyun Ambition"(1968 - 1972), and the novel "Martyr"(1967). "Day in the World"(1971), the novel "The Style of the Sky Sea"(1973 - 1975),"Xiang Yu and Liu Bang"(1980). The short stories "The Wise Man" and "Lady Surukawa".
