On this day 29 years ago, on January 12, 1996 (November 22, 1995 lunar calendar), the early Western Zhou Dynasty bronze tripod was unearthed in Zhouyuan, Shaanxi Province. On January 12, 1996, a rare early Western Zhou Dynasty bronze tripod - "Ge Fuji Dading" - was unearthed at the Zhouyuan site in Shaanxi Province, known as the "Hometown of Chinese Bronzes". On September 25, 1995, 11 bronze fragments were found in the east of Qijia Village, Huangta Township, Fufeng County, Zhouyuan site area. After identification, it was confirmed that these bronze fragments were 2/3 of a western circumferential round mouth tripod. Excavation found that the three legs of the tripod were all there and could be repaired and restored correctly. The inscription "Ge Fuji" was found on the remnants of the abdominal and inner walls of the cauldron, and archaeologists named the cauldron "Ge Fuji Dading". It is speculated that the cauldron was buried in the late Western Zhou Dynasty (~ 771 BC), about 2790 years ago. The "Ge Fuji Dading" is about 110 cm high, the diameter is between 66 and 70 cm, and the cauldron weighs about 200 kilograms. The mouth of the cauldron is decorated with a circle of high relief Taotie patterns, which are based on cloud-cloud patterns. The decoration is exquisite and smooth, and the production is fine. This cauldron is second only to the "Chunhua Dading". (The "Chunhua Dading" is the largest bronze cauldron found in the Western Zhou Dynasty in China so far.)
