106 years ago today, on March 23, 1919 (February 22, 1919 in the lunar calendar), the Civilian Education Lecture Group was established. The Lecture House of the Civilian Education Lecture Group of Peking University On March 23, 1919, Deng Zhongxia and others initiated the establishment of the Civilian Education Lecture Group at Peking University. The purpose of the group is: to improve the knowledge of the common people and arouse the consciousness of the common people. There are 39 members of the lecture group, most of whom are members of the "National" magazine and the "New Chao" club. Before the "May 4th" movement, the activities of the lecture group were mostly general enlightenment education. After the "May 4th", the speech content had a clear anti-imperialist and anti-feudal color, such as the "Qingdao issue", "national self-determination", and "what is the current situation in China" speeches, which had an important impact during the "May 4th" period.
