102 years ago today, on February 12, 1923 (December 27, 1922 lunar calendar), our country mathematician Zhou Yulin was born. Zhou Yulin (1923-), for his research achievements in theoretical mathematics and applied mathematics, won the Hua Luogeng Mathematics Prize. Zhou Yulin, originally from Zhenhai, Zhejiang Province, was born in Shanghai. He graduated from the Department of Mathematics, Datong University, Shanghai in 1945. In 1957, he received an associate doctorate in physical mathematics science from the Department of Mathematical Mechanics, Moscow University, Soviet Union. Researcher at the Beijing Institute of Applied Physics and Computational Mathematics, Chinese Academy of Engineering Physics. He conducted a systematic long-term study on nonlinear parabolic, nonlinear elliptic equations and nonlinear divergent equations (sets) with soliton solutions, and achieved a series of complete and profound results, making important contributions. The comprehensive study of Landau-Lifshitz type equations has received the attention of well-known scholars at home and abroad. It has achieved fruitful results in the research of computational mathematics, fluid mechanics and their computational methods. Completely established the basic theory of discrete functional analysis, and applied interpolation inequalities in partial differential equations to finite difference theory. In 1991, he was elected as an academician (member of the Faculty) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
