On this day, 125 years ago, on April 14, 1900 (March 15, 1900), the World's Fair opened in Paris. This magnificent gate cost only part of the budget of 23 million dollars. On April 14, 1900, the gates of the Paris Fair were opened to the public. Covering an area of 547 acres, the fair was larger than any previous World's Fair in Europe. Most of the countries participating in the fair had their own exhibition halls on the Avenue Internationale of the Cadauce (French Ministry of Foreign Affairs). The most striking thing at the fair was the colorful scene generated by electricity in the Crystal Palace and the Hall of Fantasy: there were also two art galleries on the Champs-Elysees and the Alexandre III Bridge on the hill of the Seine. Exotic exhibits from France and the British colonies will be universally popular.
