This sad, bitter and legendary story is recorded in the archives of General Garden in Xingguo County, Jiangxi Province. The story takes place in the spring of 1935. A big man dressed in tattered clothes, a faded blue belt around his waist, a tattered bamboo hat, holding a machete in his hand and carrying a pole on his shoulder, and dressed as a woodcutter, has traveled through the dense forests of Yongchun Mountain in Fujian. For two days and nights, the purpose is to find the Red Army guerrillas. On this day, he suddenly found a new grave bag with wreaths made of pine branches and wild flowers that could be seen everywhere. Some paper ash that had been burned was flying in the wind underground. There were seven characters written on it: "Tomb of Political Commissar of Zhong Guochu". The big man was secretly surprised. Isn't this his name? While he was in doubt, a mountain breeze brought the low and tragic sound of "Internationale" from nearby. The man named Zhong Guochu couldn't think too much. He followed the path that had just been stepped on and followed the sound to a dilapidated temple not far away. "What are you doing? "Zhong Guochu, whose face was partially covered by a bamboo hat, had just approached the broken temple when his way was suddenly blocked by two secret scouts who flashed out. Zhong Guochu recognized his soldiers at a glance. He called their names and replied: "I am Zhong Guochu." The two soldiers were so scared that they took two steps back with their guns in hand. Zhong Guochu thought of what he had seen before and immediately understood that the soldiers thought he was dead. "Don't be afraid, I am not dead. Zhong Guochu lifted his bamboo hat and revealed his face. When the two soldiers saw that the person standing in front of them was indeed the living political commissar of the Zhangping Guerrilla Force, they saluted him and told him that everyone really thought he had died and that a memorial service was being held for him in the temple. Worried that his comrades would be scared again, Zhong Guochu signaled the two soldiers to keep quiet and continued to walk towards the temple. I saw that the hall was packed with people, and the words "Comrade Zhong Guochu's Memorial Service" were hung on the wall. The detachment leader stood in the left corner of the main hall and announced: "Comrade Zhong Guochu's Memorial Service begins! Everyone stood in silence, took off their hats, and bowed three times to Comrade Zhong Guochu's memorial tablet. "Zhong Guochu's nose turned sour and tears burst into his eyes. The thoughtful detachment leader suddenly saw a man dressed like a woodcutter standing at the back with a broken bamboo hat on his head. He shouted warily,"Who is he?" Zhong Guochu took off the bamboo hat from his head. "Political Commissar Zhong?" Everyone was stunned. "Comrades, I am not dead. I came back alive." Zhong Guochu choked up, and then jokingly said to ease the atmosphere: "Although I was seriously injured, I went to Marx's place for a while. He thought that I had not completed the revolutionary work and refused to accept me." "What the hell is going on?" The captain asked. After everyone settled down, Zhong Guochu told the story of his death. More than 20 days ago, Zhong Guochu led the Zhangping guerrillas in a fierce battle with the Kuomintang cleanup troops at Zhuziba. When he jumped onto a ridge and rushed to the enemy, he was hit by a flying bullet in the trachea, and blood flowed profusely. After wrapping his neck with long trousers, two soldiers hurriedly carried him to the Red Army temporary hospital in Jiuzhou Mountain. Walking into a dense forest, Zhong Guochu, who could no longer speak, motioned for the two soldiers to put it down, took out half of a pencil from his pocket, and wrote askew on the paper: "I am from Xingguo Butou and died in Zhuzaiba, Fujian. Comrades must persist in fighting... "Before the word" Dou "could be written, Zhong Guochu fainted. After two soldiers stumbled and carried him to the hospital, a doctor touched his nose and shook his head, saying that there was no way to save him. The two soldiers suddenly burst into tears and stood beside Zhong Guochu for a long time unwilling to leave. The doctor was worried that the two soldiers would not be able to catch up with the troops while the enemy was circling and suppressing them. The situation was extremely critical. He urged them to leave quickly, saying that the hospital would be responsible for the burial of the bodies on site. Because the troops were scattered, the two soldiers wandered in the mountains for more than 20 days before handing Zhong Guochu's suicide note to the detachment leader. Zhong Guochu was not actually dead, but his trachea was blocked by a blood clot that froze in his throat. When the hospital sent people to carry him to the back mountain and bury him, the bumps during walking actually made the blood clot in Zhong Guochu's throat slip out, and the blocked airway was cleared again. Seeing that Zhong Guochu had opened his eyes and had a weak breath, the buriers quickly carried him back to the hospital for emergency treatment. Under the careful treatment of the hospital, Zhong Guochu gradually recovered to health. Although he had not yet recovered, Zhong Guochu left a note indicating his whereabouts and secretly left the hospital because he was thinking about the troops. After two days and two nights of running, Zhong Guochu finally found the guerrillas, but he didn't expect that what would greet him would be his own memorial service...
