On this day 315 years ago, April 8, 1710 (March 10, 1710 lunar calendar), Kangxi ordered the compilation of the "Dictionary". On April 8, 1710 (the tenth day of March in the forty-ninth year of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty), Zhang Yushu, Chen Tingjing and others were ordered to compile the "Dictionary". The book is based on the Ming Dynasty Mei Zuo's "Dictionary" and Zhang Zilie's "Zhengzi Tong" two books, with 47,035 words, each word is detailed in its voice and exegesis. It is divided into 12 episodes, each episode is divided into three volumes, the upper, middle and lower volumes, arranged according to 214 radicals. There are many variants of glyphs, and the documentary evidence is mostly taken from the scriptures, history, scholars and poets and scholars since the Han, Tang, Yuan and Ming Dynasties. At the end of the book, the "Addendum" includes some secluded characters and ancient characters, and the "Preparation for Exams" includes the words of Ji Wuyi, the sound and meaning of the whole yuan. The whole book was completed in 1716 (the fifty-fifth year of Kangxi). However, there are many errors in the book. After the "Textual Research" quoted by the King of the Qing Dynasty, it was attached to the book, and 2,588 errors were corrected in quoting book dictionaries.
