On March 26, 1142 (February 27, the twelfth year of Zhu Shaoxing), Emperor Gaozong of the Song Dynasty sent Cao Xun to the Jin Dynasty as a "deputy envoy to thank you" and told Zong Bi that he had come to approve the peace talks in Shaoxing and asked the Jin Dynasty to return Huizong Lingshu and Empress Wei as soon as possible. As soon as Cao Xun set out, the Jin Dynasty also sent envoys with audio books to Lin 'an, the capital of the Southern Song Dynasty. They conferred Song Gaozong as Emperor of Song and approved the boundary between the two sides. From then on, the confrontation between the Southern Song Dynasty and the Jin Dynasty took shape.
