Breaking-News >> TodayHistory China's Ming Dynasty politician Hai Rui was born
On January 12, 1515, Hai Rui, a politician of the Ming Dynasty in China, was born.
Hai Rui (1514-1587) was a famous politician in the Ming Dynasty. A native of Qiongshan, Hainan, is also known as Ruxian, and calls himself Gangfeng. Our ancestors moved from Anbian, Fujie, Fujian (recorded in Guangxi magazine) to Haicuo, Qiongshan, Hainan. He studied poetry, books and classics since he was a child and was knowledgeable and talented. He was in the middle of the 28th year of Jiajing (1550). He was first appointed as an instructor in Chongqing in Nanping, Fujian, and later promoted to the magistrate of Chun'an, Zhejiang, and Xingguo, Jiangxi. He promoted the promotion of clearing posts and leveling taxes, and repeatedly quashing unjust, false and wrongful cases to crack down on corrupt officials. He won the hearts of the people. In the forty-first year of Jiajing (1562), Hai Rui, an honest official of the Ming Dynasty who was prominent in later generations for his dismissal from office and resisting rebellion, was appointed as the magistrate of Zhuji; In the forty-fifth year of Jiajing, he served as the chief of the Yunnan Department of the Ministry of Revenue. He wrote a letter criticizing Sejong for his superstitious belief in witchcraft, his luxurious life, and his ignorance of court affairs. In the forty-fifth year of Jiajing (1566), Hai Rui, the chief of the Ministry of Revenue, bought a coffin, left his wife, and scattered his children and servants, and pleaded with death. He advised Sejong not to believe the deception of Tao Zhongwen and other alchemists and should strengthen the administration of court affairs, thus angering Sejong and ordered him to be imprisoned and sentenced to death. He was persecuted and imprisoned. Prime Minister Xu Jieli tried to save Hai Rui, but Huang Guangsheng compared Hai Rui's letter to his son's scolding his father to reduce his guilt. He took the opportunity to keep Hai Rui in prison and protected Hai Rui very hard (see "Dictionary of China History", page 3681). It was not until December of the same year that Shizong died and Mu Zong ascended the throne that he petitioned to release Hai Rui from prison. Sejong was released after his death. In the fourth year of Hairui Longqing, he went to Huang Guangsheng's Shangshu Mansion in Panhu, Jinjiang, Fujian Province to pay homage to Huang Guangsheng, as evidenced by the Hairui Xiema Temple in Panhu and the Dictionary of China History on page 3681. In the third year of Longqing (1569), he was promoted to the position of Imperial Censor of Right Qian. As always, he punished corrupt officials, cracked down on powerful forces, dredged rivers, built water conservancy projects, and implemented a whip method to force corrupt officials to return their fields to the people. As a result, he became known as the "Sea of Sky". Later, he was ostracized and dismissed from his post and lived idle for 16 years. In the 13th year of Wanli (1585), he was re-appointed and successively served as the right assistant minister of the Nanjing Ministry of Civil Affairs and the right censor of the Nanjing Capital. He advocated severe punishment of corrupt officials and prohibiting private bribery. Hai Rui and Huang Guangsheng of Wen Panhu died, extremely sad, and came to Jinjiang to mourn with illness. Later, he died of illness in Nanjing. Hai Rui lived a clean and honest life, and was upright and upright. He won the respect and love of the people. It is said that when the local people heard the news of his death, they were very sad as if they had lost a loved one. When his coffin was transported back to his hometown from the Nanjing waterway, the two sides of the Yangtze River were full of people who saw him off. Many people even made his portrait for their homes. Legends about him are more widely circulated in the folk. After being processed and sorted out by scholars and writers, they were compiled into the famous long koan novels "Hai Gong Dahongpao" and "Hai Gong Xiaohongpao", or compiled into plays "Hai Rui", "Hai Rui Stripped from Office", and "Hai Rui Shangshu". Hai Rui, like Bao Zheng of the Song Dynasty, is a model of clean officials and a symbol of justice in Chinese history. Hai Ruizhong raised people. When he arrived in Beijing, he bowed down under the palace to present the "Pingli Policy". He wanted to open up a way to establish a county seat to stabilize the countryside. People with knowledge praised Hai Rui's idea. Acting for the teaching of Nanping County, the imperial history went to the academy palace, and the subordinate officials all fell to the ground to report their names. Hai Rui bowed and saluted alone, saying, "Go to the yamen where the imperial history is located to conduct subordinate etiquette. This academy is a place where teachers educate students, and should not bow down and salute." Moved to Chun'an prefect county, wore cloth robes, ate coarse grain brown rice, and let the old servants grow their own vegetables. Governor Hu Zongxian once told others: "Yesterday, I heard that the magistrate of Hai County congratulated my mother on her birthday, so I bought two catties of meat." Hu Zongxian's son passed through Chun'an County, and became angry with the post officials and hung them upside down. Hai Rui said, "In the past, Governor Hu inspected the department and ordered the places he passed by not to be too extravagant. Now this person is well-dressed, and he must not be the son of Duke Hu." He opened the bag with thousands of taels of gold, which was collected in the county treasury, and sent someone to report to Hu Zongxian on horseback. Hu Zongxian did not punish him for this. Du Shi Yanmaoqing patrolled through Chun'an County, and the supply of wine and rice was very simple. Hai Rui declared loudly that the county was too small to accommodate a large number of chariots and horses. Mao Qing was very angry, but he had long heard of Hai Rui's name, so he had to restrain his prestige and leave, but he instructed the salt governor Yuan Chun to take care of the sins of Hai Rui and Cixi Zhixian Huo Yuxia Huo Youxia, the son of Huo Tao, was also a frank and upright person who did not flatter Yan Maoqing. At that time, Hai Rui had been promoted to Jiaxing General Justice, so the matter was demoted to Xingguo Prefecture Judge. After a long time, Lu Guangzu advocated for civilian election and promoted Hai Rui to be Minister of Household Affairs. At that time, Zhu Houlu, the Emperor of the Ming Dynasty, was in power for a long time. He did not go to the court to handle government affairs. He lived deeply in Xiyuan and concentrated on setting up a village to seek blessings. The governor and governor competed to contribute items with auspicious signs to the emperor, and the ceremonial officials always made a memorial to congratulate him. Since the court ministers offended Yang Zui and Yang Jue, no one dared to talk about current affairs. After his death, the emperor was posthumously named Zhongsuke. Comments: Deeply admired by later generations, he has always been the subject of his life anecdote drama endless.
