Wagner, whose musical and theatrical stage works are of profound significance, is characterized by their own creation (including plot, characters, lyrics, methods of expression and music). He was never interested in the musical form itself, only as an emotional and psychological means of expression. He used hypnotic music to express the naked human nature - especially aggression and lust - suppressed by civilization. His art became the subject of debate, and he revolutionized the technique of composition, thus having a decisive impact on the development of music as an art and leading to the formation of expressionist music.

Wagner was born in Leipzig on May 22, 1813. I have loved the music of Beethoven, Mozart and Weber since childhood, and taught myself piano and composition. At the same time, he was also influenced by the dramas of Shakespeare, Goethe, and Schiller. When he was 15 years old, he wrote a five-act poetic tragedy. In his later years, he was influenced by philosophers such as Schopenhauer, Nietzsche and even Freud. In the summer of 1833, he served as an opera conductor in Würzburg and began to compose opera. In 1840, he wrote "Le Enzi", and in 1841 he wrote his first opera masterpiece "The Drifting Dutchman". In 1843, he was appointed conductor of the Dresden Court Opera. In 1845, he performed "Tanghuser", which he wrote based on German legend. After 1849, he lived in exile abroad for 15 years. In 1875, he completed all the writing of The Ring and staged it in August 1876 at the newly completed Bayreuth Theatre, which was a great success. His famous works include "Rohenglin","Tristan and Isolde","The Famous Singer of Nuremberg" and so on. His books include On German Music, Art and Revolution, Future Works of Art, Opera and Drama, etc.

He died on February 13, 1883.
