Seventy-eight years ago today, on April 26, 1947 (March 6, 1947), Gu Shoufu, the worst evil of the Nanjing Massacre, was shot. Gu Shoufu was executed outside the Zhonghua Gate in Nanjing. On April 26, 1947, the Nanjing Military Court tied the war criminal Gu Shoufu to the execution ground and executed him. Thousands of Nanjing citizens stood on both sides of the street and around the execution ground, witnessing the fate of Gu Shoufu, the culprit who massacred the people of Nanjing. At 2:00 pm on February 6, 1947, the Nanjing War Criminals Military Court began a three-day public trial of the war criminal Gu Shoufu at the Inspiration Club. On March 10, the Nanjing War Criminals Military Tribunal convicted the war criminal Gu Shoufu of crimes during the Nanjing Massacre. It ruled that "Gu Shoufu, during the war, jointly killed prisoners and non-combatants, raped, robbed, and destroyed property, and was sentenced to death."
