On February 20, 2008, Haoran, an honorary member of the China Writers Association, an honorary chairperson of the Beijing Writers Association, and a famous writer, passed away in Beijing due to illness at the age of 76. Haoran, formerly known as Liang Jinguang, was born in Danjiazhuang, Baodi County, Hebei Province (now in Tianjin City). He was born in the Zhaogezhuang Mining Area in Kailuan in March 1932. He was determined to create literature since childhood, and began writing in 1949, taking the road of self-study. Haoran was transferred to the Beijing Writers Association in 1964 to engage in professional creation. In May 1997, he was elected as the chairperson of the Beijing Writers Association. After September 2003, he served as the honorary chairperson of the Beijing Writers Association.
