In June 1937, his father, Anastasia Somozha-Garcia, became president and established his family¡¯s dictatorship in Nicaragua. In 1956, after his father was assassinated, his brother, Luis-Somosha-Somosha-Ire, graduated from the U.S. Military School of the West, and in June of the same year, he succeeded as commander-in-chief of the National Guard of Nicaragua, in 1967 succeeded as president.
