On June 18, 1928, Ms. Emilia-Erhardt of Aachen, Kansas, became the first woman to successfully fly across the Atlantic. The 29-year-old pilot flew a Falk multi-engine plane accompanied by two male pilots. They took off from Boston and landed in southern Wales 22 hours later. Their average flight time was slightly more than 120 miles. Ms. Erhardt was a board member of three airlines, and her purpose of this flight was to explain to people that ¡°to travel by aircraft is safer and should be developed¡±, and she successfully played her role in cross-ocean flights.
