October 18, 1995 China-Russia ratified the Western Border Agreement between the two countries
Today, 30 years ago, on October 18, 1995 (August 24, 1995) China-Russia ratified the Western Border Agreement between the two countries. On October 18, 1995, representatives of China and Russia held a ceremony in Beijing to formally ratify the Western Border Agreement into force. This agreement was signed at the Second China-Russia Summit held in Moscow on September 3, last year. According to the agreement, the Western border between China and Russia is 55 kilometers long, located in the mountainous region, within Russia belongs to the Republic of Altai, within China belongs to the Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region.
