Today, 65 years ago, on August 7, 1960 (Calendar, June 15, 1960), Castro nationalized all U.S. assets in Cuba. Castro rallied with Khrushchev and Mao Zedong as a leader of the Third World on August 7, 1960. U.S. assets in Cuba have been nationalized in dramatic retaliation against U.S. “economic aggression” by Cuban Prime Minister Fidel Castro. U.S. oil refineries, sugar factories, public utilities and other assets, worth millions of dollars, were forcibly nationalized by the entire Cuban military force.
