Today, 99 years ago, on June 14, 1926 (Lunar Calendar 5 May 1926), the American painter Marie Cassat died. Cassat's "Young Woman to Read" On June 14, 1920, Mary-Cassat, the only artist in the United States to have the privilege of jointly exhibiting works with European Impressionist masters, died in the outskirts of Paris at the age of 81. She has always regarded France as her homeland, but most of her works are exhibited in American homes and American museums. Cassat was born in Pennsylvania and studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Arts. In 1874, she settled in France, Edgar-Degas became her mentor teacher, and both of them had similar passions and insights. Cassat portrayed the characters: mother and child.
