Ivan IV Vasilyevich (August 25, 1530 ¨C March 18, 1584), also known as Ivan the Terrible or Ivan the Great, was the son of Vasily III and Elena Grinskaya.The first tsar in Russian history.He was Grand Duke of Moscow from 1533 to 1547, and Tsar from 1547 to 1584.
