Benigni was born in Naples, his father Peter was also a sculptor, and his family moved to Rome in 1605. He is said to have been a child's image at the age of eight, which surprised his father. By the age of 17, he was able to independently make a very good breast image for Archbishop Sadoni. Later, he met Spione Borgez, a prominent red-dressed Bishop. When Benigni first came out of town, Borgez ordered him a series of works to decorate his garden. Benini was an outstanding early Baroque artist and the greatest master of art of the seventeenth century.
