Wu Yong Kong was born in Jiangsu Wu County on November 1, 1907.After 1932, he participated in the filming of "Three Modern Women", "Mother's Light".In 1934, he directed the virgin work "God's Woman" at the United China Film Company, and became famous in 1936, he directed the national defense film "Highline" in 1938.Between 1938 and 1941, he filmed more than 10 antique films such as "Shanghai's Night Shot" in Shanghai.In 1947, he founded a major film company, filmed "Happy Spring", "Eternal Majesty" and other films.After 1949, he became a director at the Shanghai Film Factory.

In 1950, he directed the first film depicting rural land reforms, ¡°Large Villages¡±. Between 1955 and 1962, he directed the story film ¡°Hassun and Kamila¡±, ¡°Achion Meet the Fades¡±, ¡°Linpo¡± and the stage art film ¡°Beijing¡± and ¡°Yumi¡±, among which, ¡°Hassun and Kamila¡± was awarded the Best Film Award from the Ministry of Culture in 1957. In 1978, he directed the drama art film ¡°Liu¡± Miss. In 1980, in collaboration with the director Wu Zhong, he received the Best Story Film Award from the first Chinese film ¡°Golden Chicken Award¡±. In 1983, he died.
