May 28, 1967 Chicester victory completed single sailing
Today, 58 years ago, on May 28, 1967 (Calendar April 20, 1967), Chicester victoriously completed a single sailing. After seven and a half months of sea sailing, the sailor returned to Plymouth on May 28, 1967, Sir Francis-Chicester returned to Britain's Port of Plymouth from the quiet and vast sea. On the port, people bounced and glittered, and people welcomed him to complete his solo globe sailing. Chicester looked tired but healthy. The 65-year-old adventurer finally completed the 28,500 miles of sailing that began on August 27, 1966.
