In 1956, he joined the Institute of Economic Studies (currently the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences) as a researcher and wrote a book on the laws of commodity production and value under the socialist system.The theory of socialist market economy was first proposed.In 1957, he served as deputy director of the Committee on Comprehensive Resources of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and was ranked as a right-wing activist in the subsequent anti-right movement. In 1962, he returned to the Institute for Economic Studies. After his death, his ideological values were gradually recognized and highly appreciated by people.
