On December 13, 1545, Pope Paul III convened a conference in Trento to address the protestant and religious reform movement.
Paul III attempted to revive the ancient winds after the Catholic Church was hit by the religious reform movement. In 1545 he commissioned delegates to hold a conference in Taranto, south of the Alps, in Italy. The cardinals who co-hosted the conference with Delmont later became popes, namely Marcel II and Julius III. The conference took place for 18 years (1455.12.13-1563.12.4) after the three papal periods.
