The Holocaust on July 17, 1791
Today, 234 years ago, on 17 July 1791 (Calendar 17 June 1791), the Holocaust was carried out in the field of fire. Years of the French Revolution: On 17 July 1791, the masses gathered at the field of fire (Champde Mars, usually the parade site of the King) to jointly write a request for the abolition of the King. Angry masses fired two shots at the National Guard, then throwed a stone at them, and after the mayor of Paris Bayer issued a military order, Lafayette ordered the guards to open fire and arrest "assassins among the gangsters." This event - also known as the "Massacre of the field of fire" - killed 50 civilians, marking the final division of the constitutional and radical monarchy.
