On June 27, 1917, Pancheng led U.S. troops to land in France.

Today, 108 years ago, on June 27, 1917 (May 9 of the Lunar Calendar), Panching led American troops to land in France.

On the morning of June 27, 1917, the U.S. forces led by Major General John-J-Panning, known as the "Black Jack," arrived at the port of France. The 2nd division was stationed not far from the camp of the 1st division led by Major General William-L-Sebert. Paning himself arrived on the evening of the 27th.

The infantry quickly crossed the Atlantic. Despite the sea being filled with mines and submarine activities, no one was lost on the road. Some of them volunteered to join the army, some recruited after the recruitment began in May, and others were veterans of the Hundred Wars, with their rough brown skin indicating that they had defeated Punch-Billy in Mexico with General Panching. They were all from small farms and towns. French villagers rushed to the coast, calling them heroes.

Panching, 56, who was awarded the title of commander-in-chief of the U.S. Expeditionary Forces after the defeat of the Moroccan in Mexico and the Philippines in 1913, planned to keep his forces as a whole, free from the control of other leaders of the Confederate, ultimately hoping to command a large army of 28,000 men in each division.

The French, British and other Allied forces on the western frontier believe the Americans are still inexperienced, so they can’t, at least not at the moment, go to the front.
