On May 27, 2008, at 11:02 p.m., China's first new-generation polar meteorological satellite, Fengyun III, was launched in Taiwán satellite launch center. This satellite loaded with more than 10 advanced detection instruments will make a qualitative leap to China's meteorological observation capabilities.
