Today, 27 years ago, on July 8, 1998 (Lunar Calendar, May 15, 1998), the word "Netizen" was born. On July 8, 1998, the National Science and Technology Name Review Committee issued the second batch of 56 information and technology names, in which the Chinese name of "Internet users" was identified as "Netizen".
