Today, 28 years ago, on 24 August 1997 (Lunar Calendar 22 July 1997), the World Conference on Tobacco or Health was held in Beijing. The 10th World Conference on Tobacco or Health was held on 24 August 1997 in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. President Jiang Zemin of China attended the meeting and delivered an important speech. More than eighty-eight hundred delegates from a hundred-three countries and regions of the world attended the conference.
