Reorganization of the West German Army on 12 November 1955
Today, 70 years ago, on November 12, 1955 (Calendar 28 September 1955), the West German army was reorganized. On November 12, 1955, 101 soldiers received a military certificate at a rushing ceremony held in a car chalet in Perth, which meant the birth of a new West German army. Defense Minister Theodore-Blanck presided over this gathering with the land and air troops, ending Germany's decade-long de-militarization. The establishment of the army did not attract much attention, and some newspapers even deliberately diminished the significance of the event, because people could not forget the 4.5 million German soldiers who died in the Second World War. November 13 is the Memorial Day of the Defeated General of the West German Army, and citizens will take this opportunity to express their mourning
