On November 15, 2009 (September 29), US President Barack Obama arrived in Shanghai for his first state visit to China.

On November 15, at the invitation of President Hu Jintao, President Obama arrived in Shanghai on the evening of the 15th, and began a four-day state visit to China.

This is Obama's first visit to China since he took office in January this year, and he is also the first US president to make a state visit to China in the year after he took office.

During the visit, Hu will hold formal talks with Obama, exchange broad and in-depth views on China-US relations and major issues of common interest, and discuss the further development of China-US relations.

At 23:10 p.m., Obama landed at Shanghai Pudong International Airport. At 23:26 p.m., Obama walked down the ladder and shrugged his hand with the Chinese ambassador to the United States, Zhou Weng He, and Chinese officials such as Shanghai¡¯s deputy mayor, Yang Yong, and Dong Deng-jee.

In 1972, U.S. President Nixon launched the "Ice Breaking Tour" of China-US relations, and first came to Shanghai.This year is the 30th anniversary of the establishment of China-US relations, and Shanghai, with the prestige of "Eastern Pearl", once again witnessed an important moment in the development of China-US relations.

Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, in 1961, Obama lived in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, after graduating from high school, studying at the West College of Arts in California, two years later transferring to Columbia University and obtaining a bachelor¡¯s degree in international relations, and in 1988 studying at Harvard Law School. After graduation, he worked in a law firm in Chicago and then taught at the University of Chicago.

Obama was elected Senator of Illinois three times in 1996, 1998 and 2002.In the 2004 Congressional elections, Obama was elected Senator of the United States.In 2008, Obama was elected 44th President of the United States, and took office on January 20, 2009.

Obama¡¯s wife, Michelle, was his classmate at Harvard University, and they had two daughters.
