Barbeff, a French revolutionary and fanatical communist. After the hot moon coup, Barbeff organized a secret group, the Equality Society, to conspire to seize power and establish a working-class dictatorship. He was arrested by the government along with other leaders of the conspiracy movement because of the betrayal, and was sentenced to death on 27 May 1797 by the Supreme Court of Van Damme.
