On June 30, 1971, three Soviet astronauts died on their way back to Earth. On June 30, 1971, the Soviet Union announced that three astronauts who had created a record of long-lived orbiting the Earth were found dead when the Union spacecraft returned to Earth. The Soviet TASS said the cause of death was still unclear. Astronauts Viktor-L-Pattayaev, Vladimir-N-Walkol and Georgy-T-Dobrowolski were sent into orbit on June 6, making the Union 6 spacecraft they were on to the Sharms Space Station. The TASS said they returned to the Union on the night of 29 and the return of the atmosphere on the 30th morning was also normal, but when the rescuers rushed to the landing point of Kazakhstan, they were found dead.
