Today, 64 years ago, on October 25, 1961 (Calendar 16 September 1961), Ecuador discovered the earliest human site in South America. On October 25, 1961, one of the earliest human sites was discovered in 23 kilometers southeast of Quito, and this site may belong to the human society from about 10,000 to 15,000 years ago. Currently, the scientific community generally believes that the oldest inhabitants of the Americas were found at the end of the Stone Age (from about 13,000 years ago) and moved from other continents. Archaeological excavations throughout the Americas have never found earlier cultural relics.
